Vomiting of blood in patients with cirrhosis is mainly due to bleeding from ruptured esophagogastric fundal varices. Patients with liver cirrhosis will suffer from esophagogastric fundus varices due to long-term portal hypertension. When cold, hard and irritating food, or when they defecate hard, cough violently, or move heavy objects, it will easily lead to rupture and bleeding of the esophagogastric fundal varices, which will lead to the symptom of vomiting blood.
