It is a general term for acute exogenous illnesses caused by the feeling of warmth and heat, characterized by heavy heat and easy dryness and injury to yin. It includes a variety of acute febrile diseases, such as wind temperature, spring temperature, summer temperature, wet temperature, autumn dryness, summer heat, winter temperature, warm epidemic, warm poison, big head plague, rotten throat gua, etc. In addition to their respective characteristics, these acute febrile diseases have some common features: ① the causative factors are the same, and their onset is caused by the feeling of external warmth. ②Warm diseases are mostly contagious, epidemic, seasonal and geographical. Most of the warm and feverish evils have varying degrees of contagiousness, so they can cause epidemics of varying degrees in the population under certain conditions. The occurrence of warm disease and seasonal changes are closely related, such as spring to wind and temperature, summer is common to summer heat, humidity and temperature. The occurrence of warm disease is also regional, due to differences in geographic and climatic conditions in different regions. An example of this is the miasmatic malaria seen in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, and other regions. ③There is a certain regularity in the development and change of warm diseases. According to the transmission of Wei-Qi and Ying-Blood, the initial warming disease mostly offends the Wei part, and then passes into the Qi part, and if the Qi part is not relieved, it passes into the Ying part, and if it is not relieved again, it penetrates into the Blood part. In terms of the transmission of the three jiao, the initial warming is mostly in the upper jiao lung and the lung, and then in the middle jiao yangming or the heart, and in the later stages, the liver and kidney yin of the lower jiao are injured. 4) The clinical manifestations of warm disease have their own specificity. In addition to fever, most of them have high fever and are accompanied by heart trouble, thirst, yellow urine, red tongue, and pulse count. The common variants include rash, epistaxis, blood in stool, convulsions, and dizziness. According to the nature of the disease, warm diseases can be divided into two categories: warm-heat and damp-heat. Those who feel warm-heat virus without dampness are called warm-heat type of warm diseases, including wind-warm, spring-warm, winter-warm, autumn-dry, etc., which generally have rapid onset, fast transmission and short course; those who have dampness are called damp-heat type of warm diseases, including damp-warm, summer heat, etc., which generally have slow onset, slow transmission and long course. The transmission of warm disease is mostly according to the order of Wei Qi, Ying Blood and San Jiao, so the two methods of Wei Qi, Ying Blood and San Jiao identification are mostly used in the clinical evidence. Wenzi is a Yang evil, which easily turns into fire and hurts Yin, showing the symptoms of heat and fluid injury. Although the specific treatment of warm disease is varied, the general treatment principle is to clear heat and eliminate evil, and to protect fluid and nourish yin. The prognosis of warm disease is related to the extent of the injury to yin and the strength and weakness of the disease and its transmission.
