There are many causes of azoospermia in men, mainly congenital and acquired, such as vas deferens, vas blockage, testicular deficiency, cryptorchidism, prostatitis, orchitis, varicocele, vesiculitis and chromosomal abnormalities, etc. It is best to check the specific cause and then treat it. Azoospermia patients first need to undergo chromosome examination to see if there are any genetic abnormalities. If abnormalities are excluded, epididymal puncture or testicular biopsy can be performed to see if sperm can be found, and if normal sperm can be found, then IVF can be performed with one’s own sperm in hopes of having one’s own child; if there is no sperm in this test, then only donor sperm can be used for fertility.
