Polycystic, also known as polycystic ovary syndrome, does not predispose to the birth of twins. Polycystic ovary syndrome is a common condition in women of childbearing age, characterized by chronic anovulation and hyperandrogenemia, with patients experiencing irregular menstrual cycles and infertility. Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome usually have anovulation or sporadic ovulation and do not tend to produce dominant follicles, so patients with polycystic ovary syndrome are not prone to conceive twins. If a patient with polycystic ovary syndrome promotes the development of follicles through ovulation induction, there may be two to three follicles developing at the same time during ovulation induction, and the chances of conceiving twins with intercourse at this time are greater, but this is not a result of polycystic ovary syndrome causing twins, but rather, it’s the process of ovulation induction that increases a woman’s chances of conceiving twins. Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome are advised to undergo targeted treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
