Sodium diacetate

Sodium diacetate acts as an anti-mold, anti-corrosion agent and maintains food properties. It works by penetrating mold cell walls to inhibit mold production and interacts with infectious enzymes. Sodium diacetate is inexpensive and stable as a new modifier, acidifier and fungicide. It is designated as a safe substance by the Drug Enforcement Administration. Sodium bisacetate has a highly effective preservative, anti-mold agent, but also has the role of preservation of freshness, increase nutritional value and promote growth, is now widely used in livestock and poultry feed. To use sodium diacetate reasonably, generally does not cause significant damage to the skin, but may cause some damage to the skin if used in excessive doses or in violation of regulations. If large quantities of the preservative accumulate on the patient’s skin, localized redness, itching, burning and other damage may occur. If symptoms occur go to a hospital immediately for treatment.
