Signs of active bleeding in upper gastrointestinal bleeding

The signs of active upper gastrointestinal bleeding are judged by the following: 1. The patient has a history of vomiting blood or black stools, often with tarry stools, and the number of bowel movements increases significantly or the volume of black stools increases each time. 2. The symptoms of persistent vomiting of blood or persistent black stools may appear. 3. The pulse rate may be very fast, sometimes reaching 100 beats per minute or more.4. The patient may have a distinctive active bowel sound.5. A significant decrease in red blood cell and hemoglobin counts can be seen on repeat blood tests, and central venous pressure fluctuates unsteadily in some cases. All of the above signs indicate the possibility of active upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
