Early symptoms and manifestations of nasal cancer

Nasal cancer refers to malignant tumors occurring in the nose, including those occurring in the external nose, nasal cavity and sinuses, and the early symptoms of nasal cancer in different parts are different.

Early symptoms mainly include the appearance of small nodules or small warts on the skin of nose, followed by ulcers, which may bleed with or without bleeding and pain. According to the histopathological classification of cancer, external nasal cancer is divided into basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma (rare) and malignant melanoma (rare).

2.Nasal cavity and sinus cancer: The early symptoms of malignant tumor in nasal cavity are nasal congestion, nasal bleeding and pain, mostly on one side of nasal congestion, which is intermittent and progressive at first, and then may develop into persistent nasal congestion. However, for malignant tumors occurring in sinuses, the early symptoms are not obvious because of the hidden location of sinus cancer, and nasal congestion and nasal bleeding mostly belong to its late symptoms. As the disease continues to progress, patients with nasal and sinus cancer will experience unbearable headache, numbness, lacrimation and diplopia, difficulty in opening mouth, and cachexia such as general failure, anemia and weight loss.

As mentioned above, early stage of external nasal cancer is mostly manifested as skin ulcers, bleeding or pain; early stage of nasal cancer is mostly manifested as nasal congestion, nasal bleeding and pain.
