Combination of Chinese and Western medicine for the treatment of Mycoplasma urealyticum urethritis

Mycoplasma is the smallest known prokaryotic organism that can live independently. 16 species of mycoplasma can be detected in humans, but Mycoplasma urealyticum is closely related to urethritis. The latter contains urease, which can infect the human urethral epithelium and form mycoplasma urealyticum urethritis, manifesting as painful urination of varying severity, itchy or burning urethra, thin discharge from the urethra, or the phenomenon of morning mucus. Since mycoplasma has no cell wall, antibiotics that act on cell ribosomes such as erythromycin and azithromycin are mostly used for treatment, but more drug-resistant bacteria have been found. The author applied Chinese herbal soup with western medicine azithromycin to treat the disease and received better results. Diagnostic criteria 1, thin discharge from the urethra, or pus crust visible in the underwear, and a large number of leukocytes ≥ 5/HP found under the microscope; 2, urine swab to take the secretion culture found that the growth of Mycoplasma solium ≥ 104/ml; 3, negative culture of gonococcus. Treatment Take azithromycin 0.5 g once a day and oral Chinese medicine at the same time. Prescription: bitter ginseng, Huang Lian, gardenia raw earth, acacia, honeysuckle, ground elm, white foxglove, groundnut, quercetin, gong ying, etc. Decoction in two doses, one dose per day, 20 days as a course of treatment. Clinical experience The True Commentary on Surgery says: “The jade stem (penis) belongs to the liver, and the horse mouth (urethra) belongs to the small intestine.” Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae urethritis belongs to the category of “gonorrhea” in Chinese medicine, and its basic pathogenesis is damp-heat stagnation in the small intestine. In this formula, bitter ginseng clears heat and diuresis to remove the fire in the heart and small intestine as the ruler, Huang Lian and Gardenia clear the heart fire, Sheng Di cools the blood and nourishes the heart, the three together nourish the heart fire and solve the fire and heat in the small intestine, Qomai is bitter cold and enters both the heart and small intestine meridians to promote drenching and disperse stagnation, Jin Yin Hua detoxifies the toxins, Dandelion is beneficial to dampness, Di Yu and Sophora are good at clearing the heat in the lower jiao, Bai Mao Root and Di Shu Zi clear heat and dampness to lead all drugs down the line. Modern research Pharmacological research found that bitter ginseng, honeysuckle, yellow dandelion and dandelion can inhibit the growth of a variety of microorganisms, and also enhance the phagocytosis of leukocytes; although the inhibition of microorganisms in Chinese medicine is not as strong as the effect of antibiotics, but it has a broad-spectrum, multi-target, multi-link antibacterial effect, and the Chinese medicine compound is especially not easy to produce resistance. This study found that the clinical efficacy of Chinese herbal soup with western medicine azithromycin in the treatment of Mycoplasma urealyticum urethritis was significantly better than that of azithromycin alone, suggesting that the combination of Chinese and Western medicine is a better treatment for Mycoplasma urealyticum urethritis and can be used as a reference for clinicians.
