Is Stage IV Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Serious?

Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma stage IV is already in the advanced stage of malignant tumor, and the prognosis of most patients is very poor and the condition is very serious. Lymphoma is a malignant tumor originated from lymphatic tissues, which can be divided into Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma according to pathological types, and the prognosis of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is worse than that of Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Clinical staging is an important reference for assessing the severity of malignant tumors and predicting the prognosis. Generally, malignant tumors can be classified into 1~4 stages, and the later the stage is, the more extensive the metastasis and spread of malignant tumors are, the worse the therapeutic effect is, and thus the worse the prognosis is. Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma stage 4 is already in the most advanced stage, if the patient exists in the age of >60 years, there are multiple extra-nodal infiltration foci, difficult to take care of their own life, serum lactate dehydrogenase elevation and other factors such as the prognosis is even worse, the 5-year survival rate is less than 25%. Patients suffering from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and already in clinical stage 4 are recommended to go to the hospital as early as possible, ask professional doctors to fully evaluate their conditions, and formulate suitable treatment plans according to the actual situation, so as to improve the quality of patients’ survival as much as possible and prolong the survival period of patients.
