What is the difference between gastric 2a and 2b lesions?

Gastric 2a and 2b lesions have different degrees of cancer cell invasion and different treatment modes.

1. Stage 2a of gastric cancer belongs to the early and middle stage, the tumor has only penetrated the muscle layer tissue and infiltrated the tissue below the plasma membrane. There is no regional lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis. Stage 2b has already penetrated the plasma layer tissues and invaded the peripheral nerves and organs, and the condition is relatively more serious, with lymph node metastasis and invasion of neighboring tissues.

2. For patients with stage 2a gastric cancer, the best treatment is surgical resection, and with postoperative radiotherapy, chemotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine, there is still a high chance for patients to recover. However, for patients with stage 2b gastric cancer, surgery is no longer an option, and only chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy and other comprehensive treatments are available.

If there is any discomfort, consult a doctor in time and carry out targeted treatment under the doctor’s guidance.
