Lessons and advice on psoriasis treatment

Psoriasis is very common in clinical practice, and most of the psoriasis I have treated have been treated for several years by Chinese medicine, Western medicine, oral medicine, topical medicine and physical therapy, with the area spread all over the body, recurrent attacks and some with joint deformities. So I have a lot of feelings, and I think back on the lessons learned and exchange a few opinions.
  First, is psoriasis scary?
I think psoriasis is not terrible. Why? Because it doesn’t affect life expectancy, it can heal itself or go into remission on its own, and there are no terrible complications like diabetes and hypertension.
Secondly, how does psoriasis come about?
This issue is not entirely clear to the doctor, so you should not ask the root of the problem. Because asking on can only add to the psychological burden, aggravate the condition and interfere with treatment. Of course, you can look online to know some knowledge, such as genetic, mental, infection, immune, environmental and other factors, but you know these useless, may be a greater psychological burden. Some patients ask me, “I have a disease and want to know know can not be”? It’s not that you can’t, but you have to weigh the pros and cons. My personal experience is that I can inform patients of any information and knowledge that is beneficial to the treatment of diseases, but I do not recommend patients to know any so-called “knowledge” that is not conducive to patient cooperation and may easily cause confusion. For example, for hypertension and diabetes, I require patients to know the causes and hazards of the disease, because it will help patients to adhere to their medication and standardize their treatment by drawing attention to it. Not so for psoriasis. Because the onset of psoriasis is not clear at all, you tell the patient a lot is not a target, and the patient is at a loss. However, I advocate that doctors identify 1-2 main pathogenic factors according to each patient’s specific situation and tell the patient to pay attention to them in a targeted manner, and tell the patient the specific methods that can be achieved is better.
Thirdly, what are the reasons for the continuous aggravation of psoriasis?
I can’t rule out that there are some uncontrollable factors that cause the aggravation of psoriasis, but I haven’t seen them yet. I think they are all caused by “wrong goals, wrong psychology, wrong treatment”. Many people start out very lightly, and because they listen to the scaremongering of people around them and charlatans who “can cure” them, they detoxify and irradiate them, and make a lot of efforts, and some of them do “get better”, but they relapse and get worse after a short time. Many were aggravated at that time. Patients look at this, they will have the disease, the second round of wrong treatment or called the second round of bombing. It is not good enough, there is a third and fourth round, that’s it. It is also strange, we can not cure any disease in medicine, small advertisements and charlatans specialize in treating these, and the patient feels that there is hope to see the light, I really have nothing to say, I do not know whether to rely on the patient or the liar, crying and laughing, is this Chinese culture?
  Fourth, how to scientific treatment?
Maybe folk have “the best formula” to cure, please rather miss than believe; who said you can give you a cure, please rather miss than believe. This is the bottom line of our communication. If you don’t agree, let’s forget about it.
The treatment procedure I suggest is as follows.
First, when you find a skin abnormality and suspect psoriasis, you should first confirm the diagnosis. If you see it first in a secondary hospital, it is best to go back to a tertiary hospital dermatology department to determine the diagnosis and make sure there is no misdiagnosis.
Secondly. The second step after the diagnosis is confirmed is to listen carefully to the doctor’s advice. You also need to learn to judge the level of the doctor. I can give some tips. If you are looking for a regular tertiary hospital doctor, it is generally credible, and if it is a senior or expert or subject leader there is even less doubt. At the same time I also suggest that you then believe in the basis of the same level of hospital to see, if the same point of view is OK, if the views of divergent to find another, then listen to who which? I tell you, can only listen to the majority, listen to the authority. Patients may think that the doctor is very god, but in fact not. What do you do when you have to make a judgment in an unknown field? Not who is right, but who is authoritative. Because the probability of authority is still higher than others. At that time there is no correct answer at all, the correct answer is after practice.
Again, it is recommended to find experienced Chinese medicine treatment.
I personally feel that the current treatment by Western medicine is not very meaningful, and I am more afraid of the application of some immunosuppressive and anti-tumor drugs. I don’t know much about the emerging “biological agents” and I am cautiously skeptical. However, Chinese medicine is very rich in treatment methods and can be used. I think that as long as this Chinese medicine practitioner has passed the test, I can trust him. Acupuncture or soup or medicine, depending on experience, can be.
Once again, mental factors are basically the common causative factor. The patients I see almost invariably appear after a long period of mental stress and mental stimulation, so I pay special attention to this and hope to work together with patients in this area, and it is possible to do so. But the specifics vary from person to person, so doctors should all be part-time free psychiatrists, while making the patient does not feel best.
  Fourth, summary and final advice
  In just four words.
Blind treatment is better than no treatment.
Root treatment is better than control.
  Medicine is better than mind.
Western treatment is better than Chinese treatment.
The explanation is that scientific diagnosis, formal treatment, psychological regulation is more important than drugs, and Chinese medicine is better than Western medicine. This is my personal experience and experience, does not represent the highest level, only for the reference of patients and friends who trust me. If there is any discrepancy, please refer to the authority.
