Is it true that the mesalazine enema has to be poured through the anus?

Mesalazine Enema should be administered nightly at bedtime, one 4g per dose through the anus into the large intestine, or as directed by the physician. Mesalazine Enema is mainly used for the treatment of acute attacks of ulcerative enteritis. After enema into the large intestine, the drug inhibits the activity of platelet-activating factor as well as inhibits fatty acid oxidation of the colonic mucosa to ameliorate the inflammation of the colonic mucosa. Adverse reactions such as abdominal discomfort, diarrhea and vomiting are occasionally seen after use of the drug, and can usually be relieved after discontinuation of the drug. Pregnant patients should use the drug with caution. It is not recommended to use this product in pediatric patients. Nursing women must stop breastfeeding if use is necessary. If intolerable reactions occur during treatment, such as acute abdominal pain, fever, etc., the product should be discontinued immediately and prompt medical attention should be sought. The use of this drug is prohibited for those who are allergic to this drug or the ingredients in the formula, severe hepatic and renal insufficiency, gastric and duodenal ulcers and those with bleeding disorders.
