The danger of weight loss pills to the kidneys

Weight loss pills are indeed harmful to the kidneys, obesity has affected human health and is a high risk factor for hyperlipidemia, type 2 diabetes, fatty liver, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. More people join the ranks of weight loss including nephritis patients, weight loss through exercise does have benefits for the above diseases, but diet pills are drugs that definitely have side effects and are not good for nephritis patients. The majority of weight loss drugs are based on the same principle: they burn fat and speed up the metabolism, increase the fat burning rate, increase the heart rate and blood pressure by suppressing the appetite reflex, and increase the excretion of the intestines. The drug has to be metabolized by the kidneys and has a diuretic component, so long-term use will lead to reduced kidney function. Long-term diuretic and intestinal excretion will lead to electrolyte disorders and kidney ischemia, further increasing the burden on the kidneys of patients with nephritis and causing irreversible kidney damage.
