Really fat or fake fat? Please see the following four criteria!

(Algorithm of standard weight and criteria of obesity)
In addition to age, weight has become the most mindful figure for many modern people, especially women. But just look at the weight can reflect whether a person is obese? Not necessarily! For example, a muscle man and a fleshy girl compared, although the muscle man’s weight is high, but can not be considered obese; and lighter weight fleshy girl, but may belong to overweight or obese. What exactly is “obese”?
  Definition of obesity.
At the 2016 American College of Endocrinologists (AACE) annual meeting, AACE and the American College of Endocrinology (ACE) jointly released the Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Comprehensive Management of Obese Patients. The new guideline defines obesity as “a chronic disease caused by excess adipose tissue”.
What are the criteria for determining obesity?
  1.Standard weight method.
Standard weight, also called ideal weight, there are many kinds of calculation methods.
The simplest calculation method: ideal weight (kg) = height – 105 (cm).
  Judgment criteria are as follows.
(Note: This method is only suitable for adults, not for children, the elderly and people who are too short in height.)
2.Body mass index (also known as body mass index) method.
At present, the commonly used clinical obesity diagnosis standard for body mass index (BMI).
Calculation method: body mass index = weight (kg) / height of the square (m2).
Judgment criteria (Asia-Pacific population standards) are as follows.
(Note: The method is not applicable to people under 18 years of age, pregnant women, muscular athletes, the elderly, patients with edema, etc.)
  3. Waist circumference and waist-hip ratio.
  Waist circumference measurement method.
Waist circumference: put the tape measure on the highest part of the hip bone and the bottom central position of the rib cage (about 0.5-1cm on the navel) flat around a week.
Hip circumference measurement method: the horizontal circumference of the most prominent part of the hip backward with a soft tape measure flat around it.
  Waist-to-hip ratio = waist circumference/hip circumference
  World Health Organization’s standard.
Male waist circumference ≥102cm, female waist circumference ≥88cm or male waist-hip ratio?1.0; female waist-hip ratio?0.9 can be judged as central obesity.
(Note: too high or too short people can not simply through the waist circumference to determine whether obese.)
  4.Body fat rate.
Body fat rate refers to the proportion of body fat weight in the total body weight, also known as body fat percentage (PercentBodyFat, PBF), which reflects the amount of fat content in the human body.
Body fat percentage of adult women is calculated by the formula
  Parameter a = waist circumference (cm) × 0.74
  Parameter b = weight (kg) × 0.082 + 34.89
  Body fat weight (kg) = a – b
Body fat percentage = (total body fat weight ÷ body weight) × 100%
The formula for calculating body fat percentage in adult males.
  Parameter a = waist circumference (cm) × 0.74
  Parameter b = weight (kg) × 0.082 + 44.74
  Body fat weight (kg) = a – b
Body fat percentage = (total body fat weight ÷ body weight) × 100%.
The normal range of body fat percentage for adults is 20% to 25% for women and 15% to 18% for men, respectively.
It is worth mentioning that there are now direct measurement body fat scales on the market, most of which use the bio-resistance resistance method, which assumes that the body has only two components, muscle and fat, with high water content of muscle conducting electricity and low water content of fat not conducting electricity, both with different resistivity. According to this principle, a fixed current is input and the ease of passing the current (electrical impedance value) is applied to an empirical formula to determine the fat and muscle content of the body. From the principle of the body fat scale we can see that the main look at the body fat rate to determine the resistance, water content, formula. Deviations are inevitable due to a variety of factors such as different grip forces when the skin is in contact with the resistance. Although the body fat scale is not 100% accurate, but the measurement is convenient and can be used as one of the reference bases.
Obesity not only affects the appearance, but also is the root cause of many chronic diseases, according to the various indicators to measure themselves, if in obesity, hurry up to lose weight.
