The main clinical manifestation of generalized anxiety disorder is persistent worry, characterized by excessive and unrealistic worry and a range of somatic symptoms and mood disturbances, including tremor, muscle pain, restlessness, insomnia, sweating, abdominal discomfort, dizziness, difficulty concentrating, irritability, and sensitivity. Patients are usually worried about more than two different life events, such as health, money or career prospects, and this phenomenon lasts for more than 6 months. The specific symptoms include the following four categories: physical tension, overreactivity of the autonomic nervous system, nameless worry about the future, and excessive resourcefulness. These symptoms often exist simultaneously. I. Physical tension: Often feel that there is no way to relax, the whole body is tense, sitting and standing, walking back and forth, frowning, serious expression, long and short sighs. Strong autonomic nervous system response: The sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems are often overloaded with work. Unnamed worry about the future: Often worry about the future. On the road, worried that cars will hit them, worried that their lives are in danger, you are nervous and afraid; at work, you are worried that you do not have enough education, worried about being ostracized by others, worried that the position is affected, and again nervous and afraid; in family life, you are worried that your children’s academic performance is not good, worried about children going out in a car accident, worried about the deterioration of the relationship between husband and wife, you are still nervous and afraid. Fourth, excessive vigilance: every moment like a soldier standing guard on every slight movement of the surrounding environment and human speech and behavior full of vigilance. Therefore, you are susceptible to external stimuli jump reaction. This high state of alertness affects your work and life for a long time.
