How long does it take to get the results of the thalassemia test?

The results of anemia tests are usually available in half an hour for routine blood tests, while thalassemia tests take a week to confirm the diagnosis. Thalassemia is caused by the premature destruction of red blood cells due to problems in hemoglobin synthesis. In clinical practice, patients with anemia usually have a routine blood test and anemia test to see if the patient is anemic and if the anemia is a deficiency of the most common nutrients, i.e. iron deficiency anemia or megaloblastic anemia. If the patient is anemic but not deficient in iron, further examination of the cause of anemia can be done by hemoglobin electrophoresis and thalassemia gene test, and it takes one week for these results to be completely ready, so it takes at least one week for the thalassemia test to confirm the diagnosis.
