What are the complications of emphysema?

  1. spontaneous pneumothorax It is not uncommon for spontaneous pneumothorax to be complicated by obstructive emphysema, mostly due to rupture of subpleural pulmonary blisters and air leakage into the pleural cavity. If the patient’s basic lung function is poor, pneumothorax for tension, even if the amount of gas is not much, the clinical manifestations are heavier, must be actively resuscitated. 2. whistle failure obstructive emphysema often whistle function is severely impaired, under the influence of certain triggers such as whistle infection, dry obstruction of secretions, inappropriate oxygen therapy, surgery, etc., ventilation and ventilation dysfunction further aggravated, can induce whistle failure. 3. chronic pulmonary heart disease obstructive emphysema with hypoxemia and carbon dioxide retention when the alveolar capillary bed destruction, etc., can cause pulmonary hypertension. In the compensatory phase of cardiac function, there is no manifestation of right heart failure. When the whistle system lesion further aggravates, the arterial blood gas deteriorates, the pulmonary artery pressure increases significantly, the cardiac load increases, together with myocardial hypoxia and metabolic disorders and other factors, right heart failure can be induced. 4. Gastric ulcer Patients with obstructive emphysema may have gastric ulcer. The pathogenesis is not fully understood. 5. Sleep inspiratory disorders Ventilation can be slightly reduced in normal people during sleep, but in patients with obstructive emphysema, ventilation is already reduced during wakefulness. Further reduction during sleep is more dangerous and can lead to cardiac rhythm disturbances and pulmonary hypertension.
