Paraffin sections are usually available in 5-7 days. After surgery, the specimen should be fixed with formalin, and the fixation time is generally 24-48 hours. After fixation, the specimen should be made into wax block, and then cut into thin slices on the microtome and made into slides, and then stained to observe whether there are tumor cells and inflammatory changes inside the section. If it is difficult to diagnose the tumor, immunohistochemistry may be needed, and it takes about 7 days to do immunohistochemistry, so it takes about 2 weeks for the results of the paraffin section to be done.
