The whole process of paraffin sectioning takes a few days, so the pathology report basically takes 3-5 working days. If deep cuts or immunohistochemistry or special staining are needed later, another 3 working days may be added. So the pathology report basically takes more than a week to produce the results. Paraffin section is one of the most common examination methods in pathology department, and it usually takes longer time. The process is as follows: 1, the specimen, that is, a part of the body after leaving the body to the pathology department, the first step is to check the specimen for registration; 2, the specimen into formalin, that is, formaldehyde fixation solution inside fixed. The fixation time is long, usually 6-12 hours. If the tissue is relatively small, 6 hours may be enough. If the lesion is very large, it takes 12 hours, or even longer; 3. After the fixation process, the specimen needs to be taken, i.e. visual observation, to see the lesion or tumor tissue shape, and then record and analyze; 4. Dehydration of the tissue with various chemical reagents, which takes longer, generally 10-12 hours, or even longer; 5. After slicing, staining is performed, which requires a dozen of reagents for staining, and the process takes several hours; 7.
