Objective: To analyze 161 cases of post-extraction bleeding and to summarize the causes and treatment methods of post-extraction bleeding. Methods: To retrospectively analyze the clinical data of 161 patients with post-extraction bleeding in our department, summarize the causes of bleeding, discuss possible preventive measures, and compare the efficacy of commonly used hemostatic methods. Results: The causes of bleeding after tooth extraction are local soft tissue injury, which may be caused by rough and irregular operation or improper timing and indication of tooth extraction, and systemic diseases are also one of the causes that cannot be ignored. Most of the patients could stop bleeding by local compression or caulking, but some patients needed suturing and application of hemostatic drugs to stop bleeding. Conclusion: Post-extraction bleeding is one of the common conditions in emergency dentistry, which can be caused by both systemic and local factors, and should be treated with both local and systemic solutions.
