It is possible to eat grapefruit if you have kidney stones. Because grapefruit is alkaline food, in the kidney stones 90% are carbonate and phosphate stones. The reasons for the formation of kidney stones are mainly related to improper diet, sedentary lifestyle, low water intake, and no strenuous exercise, which are commonly found in people who drink less water per day; have less than 1500ml of urine in 24 hours; are sedentary, such as cab drivers, bus drivers, and office workers; and who hold their urine and do not exercise regularly. Therefore, kidney stone patients eat more fruits and vegetables, drink more water, urinate regularly, and do more strenuous exercise. For grapefruit, apple, banana, all can be consumed without any restrictions.
