High-risk stratification groups of hypertension mainly include the following: i. Class III hypertension belongs to the high-risk group; ii. Patients with class I hypertension who have a combination of more than three risk factors, or target organ damage, or diabetes mellitus, all belong to the high-risk group; iii. Patients with class II hypertension who have a combination of more than three risk factors, or target organ damage, or diabetes mellitus, also belong to the high-risk group. The risk probability of a major cardiovascular event in the subsequent 10 years for patients in the high-risk group is approximately 20-30%. For hypertension in the high-risk group, antihypertensive therapy should be aggressively pursued, as well as lifestyle interventions.
