Will your eyes get smaller if you look at your cell phone a lot?

Patients who look at their cell phones often do not usually have smaller eyes.
If the patient often looks at the cell phone, it may cause the eyes to appear myopic or myopia increase. When patients look at distant objects that are not clear, they will consciously squint their eyes to see them clearly, at which time, they may appear to be smaller from the outside, but in reality, the patient does not appear to have smaller eyes. Patients can correct their vision by wearing glasses of the right prescription and find that their eyes are still the same size.
Common clinical causes of eye size reduction include atrophy of the eyeball, ptosis, motor nerve palsy, facial nerve palsy, and so on, not including frequent cell phone reading. Although the eyes of patients who frequently look at cell phones will not become smaller, it is still recommended that patients reduce the time spent looking at cell phones to protect their eyesight.
It is recommended to develop good eye habits and avoid eye fatigue to relieve eye discomfort.
