The acute stage of hemolytic anemia in children needs to be treated with anti-shock and protection of renal function, and other treatments include medication and surgery.
1. Acute treatment: when shock occurs, fluids as well as plasma should be actively supplemented to expand blood volume and protect kidney function, 5% sodium bicarbonate solution can be used for intravenous drip. Plasma exchange can completely remove the heterogeneous red blood cells and harmful substances in the patient’s body.
2. Drug therapy: drugs are recommended to be used under the guidance of a doctor. Glucocorticoid can be used for autoimmune hemolytic anemia, common drugs are prednisone and so on. Cyclophosphamide, azathioprine, etc. can be used for autoimmune hemolytic anemia for which glucocorticoid and splenectomy treatments are ineffective.
3. Surgical treatment: some patients can be splenectomy, allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation can be used to cure hemolytic anemia caused by intrinsic defects of red blood cells.
If your child has hemolytic anemia, it is recommended to go to the hospital for timely treatment.
