There is no authoritative evidence that dandelion is an effective treatment for thyroid nodules. Common thyroid nodules can be categorized as benign or malignant. Benign thyroid nodules can be caused by nodular goiter, subacute thyroiditis or Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Dandelion, with its effects of clearing heat and removing toxins (removing heat and toxicity from the body) and eliminating swelling and nodules, may have a soothing effect on the symptoms of benign thyroid nodules caused by the above mentioned reasons, but it cannot eliminate the thyroid nodules. For patients with benign thyroid nodules, if the diameter of the nodule is small and there are no obvious pressure symptoms, no special treatment is needed and regular follow-up is sufficient. If the diameter of the nodule is too large and there are obvious pressure symptoms (dyspnea, dysphagia, etc.), or if the nodule is malignant, ablation or surgical resection can be chosen as prescribed by the doctor. For malignant thyroid nodules such as thyroid cancer, dandelion cannot provide effective treatment. It is recommended that patients with malignant thyroid nodules undergo surgery as soon as possible for radical treatment. Therefore, if you find thyroid nodules, it is recommended that you consult a doctor in time to clarify the nature of the nodules and standardize the treatment under the guidance of a professional doctor.
