Measures to prevent heart failure mainly include removing predisposing factors, improving lifestyle, and actively treating underlying diseases.
1. Chronic heart failure:
(1) Treating the cause and removing the triggering factors: this is the basic measure for preventing heart failure, and if thorough treatment is obtained, heart failure can be lifted, and cardiac function can even be completely restored. Triggers of heart failure are commonly found in respiratory tract infection, infective endocarditis, severe arrhythmia, overwork, pregnancy or childbirth, etc., which need to be treated accordingly;
(2) Improve life style: such as quit smoking, quit drinking, obese patients need to reduce weight; control hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus; low-fat, low-salt based daily diet; for severe chronic heart failure patients, need to limit the amount of water to avoid fluid retention.
2. Acute heart failure:
(1) Avoid various triggering factors of heart failure: timely control or removal of infectious foci inside and outside the heart, control of infectious foci such as tonsillitis caused by hemolytic streptococcus; prevention and control of rheumatic activities; active prevention and control of infective endocarditis, etc.
(2) Actively preventing and controlling diseases affecting cardiac function: such as hyperthyroidism, anemia, renal insufficiency, and actively correcting symptoms such as water and electrolyte disorders.
Once the symptoms of heart failure appear, pay attention to timely hospital consultation and treatment.
