Mycoplasma negative means that there is no infection with Mycoplasma or the infection with Mycoplasma has been cured. Mycoplasma test is a pathogenetic test that is mainly used to determine whether mycoplasma is present in the examined specimen, so as to provide a basis for clinical diagnosis as well as treatment of mycoplasma-infected patients. Commonly used tests include mycoplasma culture, condensation set test, ELISA test and nucleic acid test. Negative or “-” is the normal value for Mycoplasma, which means that the patient is not infected with Mycoplasma. Mycoplasma is a pathogenic microorganism without cell wall, which can cause respiratory and genitourinary tract infections. On the respiratory system, the patient’s clinical manifestations include general malaise, headache, fatigue, and myalgia, etc. On the genitourinary tract, the patient’s clinical manifestations include urgency of urination, frequency of urination, and increase in secretion to varying degrees in men, while the patient’s clinical manifestations in women include abdominal pain, vaginal swelling, and odor, etc. When the test result of Mycoplasma is positive or “-“, it means that the patient is not infected.
