Glucosamine sulfate usually takes a few days to work

  How long does it take for glucosamine sulfate to take effect depends on the patient’s specific situation and cannot be generalized.  Glucosamine sulfate is mainly used for the treatment of osteoarthritis, articular cartilage damage, synovitis, degenerative joint diseases in various parts of the body, such as hip arthritis, knee arthritis, shoulder arthritis, ankle arthritis, joint pain and spine diseases. Glucosamine sulfate is a monosaccharide widely found in nature, which can promote protein synthesis in articular cartilage, and it can improve the viscosity of synovial fluid, thus reducing the wear and tear of articular cartilage surfaces. If the patient’s condition is mild, it usually takes about 1 week to show some effect; if the patient’s condition is severe, it takes 6 weeks to show the effect, and some patients need to take it for 3 months to relieve the symptoms.  It is also important to note that this medication is contraindicated in pregnant and lactating women, as well as in those with a history of glucosamine sulfate allergy.
