Can a normal blood count be a sinus infection?

You cannot tell if you have sinusitis by whether or not your blood count is normal; it can be normal or abnormal in sinusitis. A definitive determination of whether or not you have sinusitis can be made by a CT scan of the sinuses. There are many types of sinusitis, including chronic sinusitis, allergic fungal sinusitis, and acute sinusitis. Typical symptoms include nasal congestion, runny nose, head and face swelling and pain, and decreased or loss of sense of smell. The blood routine of sinusitis may show abnormalities such as white blood cell count and neutrophil ratio in the acute stage, but it may also be normal, so it is inaccurate to judge solely by this index. The diagnosis of sinusitis needs to be combined with clinical symptoms, laboratory tests such as routine blood tests, sinus CT, nasal endoscopy and other comprehensive judgment. If you suspect sinusitis, it is recommended that you go to the hospital in time for a systematic examination to make a clear diagnosis.
