The cycle of chemotherapy generally varies for different types of prostate cancer, in most cases it is 6 to 10 courses of chemotherapy. Chemotherapy is usually used in the treatment of metastatic prostate cancer and desmoplasia-resistant prostate cancer. The main application is DP (Doxorubicin + Prednisolone) regimen, and 1 course of DP regimen is usually 3 weeks. Chemotherapy should be carried out under doctor’s guidance. If the patient has hormone-sensitive prostate cancer, 6 courses of chemotherapy are usually needed. If the patient has desmoplasia-resistant prostate cancer, about 10 courses of chemotherapy will be needed. The total duration of chemotherapy is roughly 6 to 10 courses. In addition to the DP regimen, the MP regimen, referring to mitoxantrone (M) and prednisone (P), can be applied with similar chemotherapy cycles. If prostate cancer is suspected or diagnosed, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for a comprehensive assessment of the condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment to avoid delays. Please strictly follow the doctor’s instructions for medication, and do not use medication on your own.
