The whole process of postoperative recovery from tonsillectomy surgery

Tonsillectomy is mainly used in cases of recurrent inflammation of the tonsils, enlarged tonsils affecting normal sleep and breathing. The recovery process of tonsillectomy consists of the formation of the white membrane 2 to 3 days after the operation, the complete loss of the white membrane 1 to 2 weeks after the operation, and the formation and softening of the scar after epithelialization of the operated area. Most of the patients are accompanied by pain as well as foreign body sensation in the pharynx, and a few patients may experience different degrees of postoperative bleeding. After tonsillectomy, patients should follow the doctor’s instructions to have a reasonable diet, pay attention to rest and clean the oropharyngeal cavity, and recover normally under the doctor’s guidance, so as to minimize the occurrence of infections and bleeding and other undesirable situations.
