Can nephrotic syndrome be completely cured?

At present, nephrotic syndrome usually cannot be cured completely, and the symptoms of nephrotic syndrome can be relieved by general treatment and drug treatment.
1. General treatment: patients with this disease should pay attention to rest, and bed rest is needed when there is severe edema and fluid accumulation in the body cavity. Reduce the frequency of going to public places to prevent infection. Stabilized patients should have appropriate activities to prevent venous thrombosis.
2. Drug treatment:
(1) Diuretics: clinics generally use hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide, spironolactone and other drugs to help patients excrete urine and relieve edema symptoms.
(2) Reduce proteinuria: Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (such as captopril, ramipril, etc.) or angiotensin II receptor blockers (timosartan, cloxartan, etc.) can reduce proteinuria and delay the deterioration of renal function by lowering the glomerular intraglomerular pressure and directly affecting the permeability of the glomerular basement membrane to macromolecules.
(3) Glucocorticoid: through inhibiting immune inflammatory reaction, to achieve diuresis, eliminate urinary protein. Commonly used clinical drugs are prednisone, methylprednisolone and so on.
All the above drugs need to be used under the guidance of professional doctors. The prognosis of nephrotic syndrome varies, and is related to the type of pathology, clinical manifestations, the effect of hormone therapy, complications and so on. Patients should follow the doctor’s instructions and actively cooperate with the treatment to improve the quality of life.
