Sanyinjiao point is located on the inner side of the lower leg, 3 inches above the tip of the inner ankle, at the posterior margin of the medial edge of the tibia bone; it is mainly used for the treatment of intestinal tinnitus, abdominal distension, spermatorrhea, and so on.
Sanyinjiao acupoint is used for the treatment of intestinal tinnitus, abdominal distension, diarrhea, spermatorrhea, impotence, enuresis, palpitation (accelerated heartbeat, often accompanied by panic), insomnia, hypertension, lower limb impotence and paralysis (weakness, numbness and pain in the lower limbs), and signs of yin deficiency.
In modern times, it is often used to treat acute and chronic enteritis, bacterial dysentery, enlarged liver and spleen, ascites and edema, hepatitis, cholecystitis, nephritis, urinary tract infection, diabetes mellitus, menstrual disorders, functional uterine bleeding, dysmenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, vaginismus, vaginitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, uterine prolapse, and obstructed labor.
Acupuncture is prohibited for pregnant women at San Yin Jiao. If needling is needed, it needs to be operated by a professional doctor.
