The newborn’s stomach capacity is very small, 5-10ml of milk per meal, the number of feedings will be more frequent, there is no clear regulation, mainly based on the principle of feeding on demand.
With the increase in the number of days of birth, the baby’s stomach capacity increases, the interval between feedings will be extended, to the full-term baby, each time you can feed 90-120ml, the number of feedings throughout the day 6-8 times, still need to feed on demand.
The baby will be quiet and contented after each feeding, no longer crying, and can sleep for about 2-3 hours, in addition to about 2-4 bowel movements per day, with a yellowish paste-like stool consistency.
