How to treat high blood pressure caused by phlegm-dampness

Hypertension caused by phlegm-dampness can be treated with Hanxia Baijutsu Tianma Tang or Zezhi Tang. Hypertension is a western concept, but in Chinese medicine, it is often thought to be caused by phlegm-dampness obstruction (phlegm-dampness evil qi stays in the spleen and stomach), hyperactivity of liver and yang (excessive liver yang, which causes dizziness, dizziness, headache, and other symptoms), yin deficiency of the liver and kidney, yin-yang deficiency, and qi and blood deficiency, and is often manifested as headache, palpitations, insomnia, dreamy, vertigo, and ringing in the ears, and other symptoms. The above symptoms caused by phlegm-dampness can be treated by taking Hanxia Baijutsu Tianma Tang or Zezhi Tang. Hanxia Baijutsu Tianma Tang has the efficacy of resolving phlegm and extinguishing wind, strengthening the spleen and dispelling dampness, and is commonly used in the treatment of vertigo, headache, chest and diaphragm congestion, nausea, vomiting, etc., caused by wind-phlegm upheaval (wind-phlegm evil qi intruding into the head). It is not suitable for patients with dizziness caused by yin deficiency and hyperactivity of yang or deficiency of qi and blood. Zedozhi Tang has the effect of inducing diuresis to remove watery drinks, strengthening the spleen to control water, and is often used in the treatment of dizziness, chest fullness (stomach distension and discomfort), cough and oedema, etc., which are caused by the stoppage of watery drinks at the lower part of the heart. It is contraindicated in cases of Yin deficiency and Qi stagnation and distension.
