Whole group sinusitis is more serious compared to single sinus sinusitis such as maxillary sinus sinusitis, but its severity is also related to the presence of complications and other factors. Sinuses include the maxillary sinus, pterygoid sinus, sieve sinus, and frontal sinus, and total sinusitis is an acute inflammation of the mucosa of the sinuses, such as catarrhal inflammation or suppurative inflammation, that occurs unilaterally or bilaterally in all four groups of sinuses. In terms of the extent of the lesions, full group sinusitis is the most severe compared to sinusitis of a single sinus such as maxillary sinusitis alone. The severity of sinusitis can also be related to its pathologic process, i.e., there is a higher risk of osteomyelitis/intracranial infections and other complications due to bone invasion or spread of sinusitis through the bloodstream compared to inflammation of a single sinus or multiple sinuses. Therefore, patients who feel uncomfortable with their nose should actively seek medical attention to clarify the diagnosis and the extent of the disease, and then follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the treatment.
