What is the redness in the corner of the eye?

  Redness in the corner of the eye is a very common clinical manifestation. There are many causes of redness in the corner of the eye, such as inflammation of the eye, blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, iridocyclitis, glaucoma, and so on.  There are also eye traumas that can cause redness in the corners of the eyes. Eye traumas include blunt contusions and skin ruptures. Blunt contusions are caused by external forces acting locally on the eyelid causing local tissue redness and swelling, while rupture injuries generally require debridement and suturing, and after debridement and suturing of skin lacerations, there will be a period of local skin tissue redness and swelling. There is another very common type of disease that causes redness in the corners of the eyes in daily life, such as blepharocysts caused by obstruction of the lid glands and wheals caused by infectious agents, if this disease occurs in the inner canthus of the upper lid. Diseases of the lacrimal system can also cause redness in the corners of the eyes, such as lacrimal sacculitis, which can occur in both newborns and adults.  Another very common condition in daily life is to feel uncomfortable with the eyes and rub them hard, which can also cause redness in the corners of the eyes. In summary, the common causes of redness in the corners of the eyes are inflammation of the eye tissue and other lesions secondary to the eyelids.
