Blood pressure 144/88mmHg is higher than normal, should retest blood pressure, if retest is still high can be diagnosed as hypertension, if retest is not high may be normal.
Systolic blood pressure (high pressure) 144 mmHg is higher than normal (normal systolic blood pressure should be <140 mmHg), diastolic blood pressure 88 mmHg is normal (normal diastolic blood pressure should be <90 mmHg). Although the blood pressure of 144/88 mmHg is higher than the normal range, it may be due to physiologic fluctuations in blood pressure, and repeat blood pressure measurements are still needed.
Hypertension is diagnosed when systolic blood pressure is ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure is ≥90 mmHg on 3 measurements taken on non-simultaneous days. If the blood pressure is still higher than normal in 2 retests, hypertension can be diagnosed; if the retest value is within the normal range, the overall blood pressure is still normal, and the blood pressure abnormality may be related to physiological fluctuations, exercise, drinking strong tea and other factors.
It is recommended that the patient should repeat the blood pressure test, and if there is still any abnormality, the patient should consult the doctor in time and follow the doctor's instructions.
