Most recurrences of early stage lung adenocarcinoma occur within 2 years after surgery, but the time of recurrence will vary from patient to patient and cannot be generalized. If the lung adenocarcinoma is a ground glass nodule less than 1 cm and the postoperative pathology is in situ or microinvasive adenocarcinoma, the recurrence rate after radical surgery is less than 10%. If the early stage lung adenocarcinoma is larger than 1 cm and smaller than 3 cm, its recurrence rate after radical surgery is less than 20%. In addition, the recurrence rate of patients after surgery is also related to the surgical method, which is relatively high if it is non-radical surgery. Therefore, patients must be reviewed regularly within 2 years after surgery, once every 2-3 months. In addition, if patients have symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, chest and back pain or dizziness and headache after surgery, they should pay attention and go to the hospital for review as soon as possible to avoid delaying the disease. Some patients also need to be supplemented with radiotherapy or targeted therapy after surgery, which can effectively reduce the recurrence rate.
