Fainting and vomiting in the elderly may be caused by hypertensive encephalopathy, cervical spondylosis, posterior circulation ischemia, acute cerebrovascular disease and so on.
1. Hypertensive encephalopathy: As the blood pressure of the elderly continues to rise sharply, resulting in an increase in intracranial blood flow, causing cerebral edema, increased intracranial pressure, inducing acute cerebral circulatory disorders, it may cause symptoms of vomiting and fainting.
2. Cervical spondylosis: commonly seen in vertebral artery cervical spondylosis, if the elderly suffer from this disease, it is easy to lead to local blood vessels, nerve root compression, resulting in the vertebral basilar artery blood supply is insufficient, which may cause vomiting symptoms.
3. Posterior circulation ischemia: Commonly found in elderly people with atherosclerosis, which can easily lead to stenosis or embolism of the posterior circulation of the brain, resulting in posterior circulation ischemia, which may cause symptoms of fainting and vomiting, and may be accompanied by numbness of the head and face and weakness of the limbs and other manifestations.
4. Acute cerebrovascular disease: commonly seen in acute cerebral infarction, acute cerebral hemorrhage and other diseases, due to local cerebrovascular ischemia or hemorrhage, resulting in cerebral dysfunction, which may cause fainting and vomiting symptoms, and may be accompanied by speech disorders, numbness of lateral limbs and other symptoms.
Elderly people may also suffer from other diseases, such as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, motion sickness, etc. It is recommended to consult a doctor as soon as possible, and after the cause is clarified through further relevant examinations, targeted treatment will be given.
