Can a pituitary microadenoma just be observed?

Pituitary microadenomas are mostly benign tumors. If there are no clinical symptoms, they can be treated conservatively first, but if there are symptoms they need to be treated.
For non-functional pituitary microadenomas with no occupying effect, treatment is usually not needed, and regular follow-up is sufficient.
However, if the pituitary microadenoma causes hormonal disorders or headache, visual impairment and other symptoms due to the tumor’s enlargement, it can be treated with medication as prescribed by the doctor, and can be surgically removed if necessary. If the tumor is not completely removed by surgery, radiation therapy is also available.
If you have a pituitary microadenoma, you should consult a doctor in time and follow the doctor’s instructions to actively carry on the treatment.
