Most people with Dranje syndrome are abnormal and most will have low IQ. Dranje syndrome is a rare congenital developmental disorder involving multiple organ systems with genetic heterogeneity. Its main features include craniofacial malformations, intrauterine and postnatal growth retardation, cognitive deficits, behavioral anomalies, limb deformities, and involvement of other major internal organs. Most patients with Dranje syndrome are significantly lower in height and weight than normal individuals of the same age. And they show varying degrees of mental retardation, ranging from mild learning disabilities to severe cognitive impairment, with only a very small number having normal intelligence and most having moderate to severe intellectual disability. Currently, the treatment of patients with Dranje syndrome is primarily symptomatic. Because Dranje syndrome involves multiple systemic abnormalities, multidisciplinary collaboration is required for evaluation and treatment. If mental retardation is suspected, it is important to go to the hospital for diagnosis. Early intervention is important to improve the quality of life of the child in the future.
