When Alfa Osteocortisol capsules are used for osteoporosis, an initial 0.25μg oral dose twice a day is recommended. Alfa Osteocortol is indicated for patients with osteoporosis, nephropathic rickets, hyperparathyroidism with bone disease, rickets due to nutritional and absorption disorders, and osteochondrosis. Alfacalcitol is taken orally, the dosage depends on the situation, for chronic renal insufficiency and osteoporosis: adults, 0.5μg (1 capsule) each time, once a day, or as directed by the doctor. For hypoparathyroidism and other disorders of abnormal vitamin D metabolism: Adults, 1.0-4.0 μg (2-8 capsules) once daily, or as directed by a physician. Alfacalcitol works by increasing the level of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 in the blood circulation of the body, thereby increasing the intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate, promoting bone mineralization, lowering plasma parathyroid hormone levels, and reducing the dissolution of osteocalcin, and ultimately relieving bone and muscle pain as well as ameliorating osteoporosis caused by impaired intestinal calcium absorption related to menopause, aging, and endocrine changes, among other things. Alfacalcitol must be monitored regularly for blood calcium during use, and is contraindicated in patients with symptoms of hypercalcemia, hyperphosphatemia, hypermagnesemia, and vitamin D toxicity. Common adverse reactions are nausea, dizziness, rash, constipation, anorexia, vomiting, and abdominal pain, which will return to normal after discontinuation of the drug. Alfacalcitol should be used under the advice and guidance of a doctor, blind use may have serious side effects and risks.
