What to do if stomach cancer is accompanied by liver cancer

Gastric cancer with liver cancer, i.e. liver metastasis of gastric cancer, can be treated with palliative surgery, chemotherapy, targeted drugs and immunotherapy according to patient’s physical condition. 1. Palliative surgery: As liver metastasis of gastric cancer is in advanced stage, it is usually impossible to remove it completely, so some patients need palliative surgery to relieve the symptoms of tumor compression, bleeding, intestinal obstruction and so on. 2. Chemotherapy: patients with advanced gastric cancer can choose platinum plus fluorouracil first-line chemotherapy according to their physique and disease progress. If the regimen is ineffective or unable to tolerate pain, second-line chemotherapy can be chosen, which can relieve cancer progression and prolong survival. 3. Targeted drugs and immunotherapy: Targeted drugs such as trastuzumab and apatinib can be used for patients with corresponding gene mutations, and immunotherapy such as nabulizumab can enhance patients’ anti-cancer immune function, prolong their survival time and improve their quality of life. These two types of drugs need to be used selectively after genetic testing. When gastric cancer is found to be accompanied by liver cancer, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time. More symptomatic supportive treatment should be given to cancer patients to improve their quality of life. Keeping a good state of mind prolongs the survival time of patients.
