Ovariectomy can cause endocrine imbalance and loss of ovulation function, resulting in infertility and lowered autoimmunity. Ovaries mainly secrete estrogen, progesterone and steroid hormones, which are important for the endocrine balance of women’s body. After removal, estrogen secretion suddenly decreases, endocrine imbalance, irregular menstruation, and there will be vaginal dryness and decreased libido, which affects couple life. Middle-aged women will experience early menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes, sweating and irritability, and need to take long-term hormone medication to try to maintain a balanced state. The normal ovulation cycle is lost after oophorectomy, and no eggs are produced, losing the ability to conceive children. Oophorectomy also decreases the body’s immune system and predisposes it to diseases such as high blood pressure, heart disease and osteoporosis.
