Licorice Diarrhea Pills should not be taken if there is disharmony between the liver and spleen (the liver and spleen cannot work in harmony).
Liver-Spleen disharmony is mainly caused by the liver’s loss of detachment (abnormal function of the liver’s detachment) and the spleen’s loss of robustness, resulting in a disease with loss of appetite, abdominal distension or diarrhea as the main symptoms; while Licorice Diarrhea Pill mainly treats diarrhea and abdominal distension caused by weak stomach qi, and its condition doesn’t involve the liver, therefore, Liver-Spleen disharmony can’t consume Licorice Diarrhea Pill.
Licorice Laxative Heart Pill is composed of roasted licorice, scutellaria baicalensis, dry ginger, half-summer, jujube, and yellow dock, which has the effect of benefiting qi and harmonizing the stomach (regulating the stomach and internal organs by replenishing qi), eliminating lumps and stopping vomiting, and it can treat diarrhea, abdominal distension, hardness and fullness of heart lumps (which refers to the distension and discomfort of the stomach), and discharging of urine due to weakness of gastric qi.
The disease mechanism of Licorice Diarrhea Heart Pill is not the disharmony between liver and spleen, so Licorice Diarrhea Heart Pill should not be taken for disharmony between liver and spleen. Adverse reactions and contraindications of Licorice Diarrhea Heart Pill are not clear.
