What are the symptoms of early stage bile duct cancer?

Cholangiocarcinoma is a malignant tumor originating from extrahepatic bile ducts including the bile ducts from the hilar region to the lower end of the common bile duct. The age of onset of bile duct cancer is mostly 50-70 years old, and the trend of youthfulness is obvious in recent years. The incidence of bile duct cancer in China is less common than other malignant tumors in the digestive tract such as gastrointestinal and liver tumors, but the prognosis is poor. Therefore, we should not ignore bile duct cancer. 1.Abdominal pain About half of the patients have symptoms such as right upper abdominal pain and distension or discomfort, weight loss and loss of appetite, which are often regarded as early warning symptoms of bile duct cancer. At the beginning of abdominal pain, there are similar to cholelithiasis and cholecystitis. According to clinical observation, abdominal pain and jaundice can appear in only 3 months after the onset of bile duct cancer. 2.Jaundice Most of the patients visit the doctor because of jaundice, which is the earliest and most important symptom of cholangiocarcinoma. About 90%-98% of cholangiocarcinoma patients have different degrees of yellow staining of skin and sclera. Jaundice is characterized by progressive aggravation and deepening, and is mostly painless; a few patients have fluctuating jaundice. Jaundice in upper bile duct cancer appears earlier, while jaundice in middle and lower bile duct cancer may appear later due to the buffering of the gallbladder. Itchy skin may appear before or after the appearance of jaundice, and may also be accompanied by other symptoms such as tachycardia, bleeding tendency, mental atrophy, fatigue, fatty diarrhea and abdominal distension. 4, such as nausea, vomiting and even emaciation, dark yellow urine like soy sauce or strong tea, light yellow stool or even clay color, etc. In advanced stage of tumor ulceration, black stool and positive stool occult blood test may occur when biliary bleeding occurs, and even anemia may occur; liver enlargement and cirrhosis may occur when there is liver metastasis, etc. 5.hepatomegaly and cirrhosis Cholangiocarcinoma is prone to distant spread and metastasis in late stage, and when liver metastasis occurs, symptoms such as liver enlargement, cirrhosis and portal hypertension may appear. If you have any of the above conditions, remember to go to hospital for physical examination! If not, you should also actively exercise, take good care of your body and go to the hospital for regular physical examination.
