Sitting for a while on the numbness of the feet may be physiological factors, may also be caused by disease. Physiological factors are mostly seen in incorrect sitting posture; disease factors are mostly seen in lumbar disc herniation, diabetic peripheral neuropathy and so on.
1. Physiological factors: If the patient sits in an incorrect posture, such as crossing the legs, etc., the distal blood supply to the feet and other distal blood supply is relatively poor, resulting in numbness of the feet when the patient sits for a while. Usually do not need special treatment, get up and move a few minutes after the phenomenon of numbness will be relieved.
2. Disease factors
(1) diabetic peripheral neuropathy: long-term diabetes will cause damage to the distal nerves of the limbs, or even neuropathy, so diabetic patients sit for a while, may further affect the blood supply to the limbs, aggravate the symptoms of nerve damage, so that the patient appeared to numbness of the feet.
(2) Lumbar disc herniation: Lumbar disc herniation is a series of syndromes caused by the degeneration of lumbar discs and compression of nerve roots or cauda equina. Sitting down may cause nerve compression, resulting in the phenomenon of numbness of the feet.
Numbness of the legs after sitting for a while may also be caused by other reasons and needs to be taken seriously.
