Rheumatism and Yang deficiency belong to two kinds of diseases. For rheumatism, one can take Fangji Huangqi Tang and Qiangwu Sheng Dampness Tang; for yang deficiency, one can take Ephedra and Pseudostemon Tang and Warm Spleen Tang. Patients suffering from both symptoms are advised to go to the hospital as soon as possible to confirm the cause of the disease and follow the doctor’s instructions for targeted treatment. 1. Treatment of rheumatism Fangji Huangqi Tang: with the benefit of qi to dispel wind, spleen and water function. It is used for treating wind-water (sudden edema of the head, face and limbs) or rheumatism with deficiency of the surface, such as sweating and bad wind, heaviness or swelling of the body, or pain in the limbs and joints, and dysuria (unruly urine), with a pale tongue, white fur and floating pulse. Its adverse reactions and contraindications are not yet clear. 2. Qiang Wu Sheng Dampness Tang for treating wind-dampness: it has the function of dispelling wind and winning dampness to relieve pain (removing pain caused by excessive dampness). It is used for treating paralysis caused by wind-dampness, such as shoulder and back pain that cannot be recalled, headache and heaviness, or lumbar and spinal pain that makes it difficult to turn side to side, with white coating and floating pulse. Its adverse reactions and contraindications are not yet clear. 3. Treating Yang deficiency with Ephedra, Hesperidin and Schizandra Soup: it has the function of assisting Yang and relieving epidemiology. It is used for treating Yang deficiency in the body and external wind-cold symptoms, such as fever, severe chills (fear of cold), cold that does not resolve, fatigue (lack of spirit) and desire for sleep, and a sunken and weak pulse. Its adverse reactions and contraindications are not yet clear. 4. Warm Spleen Soup for Yang Deficiency: It has the function of attacking the cold accumulation and warming the spleen and Yang. It is used for treating cold accumulation of Yang deficiency, such as constipation and abdominal pain, cramps around the umbilicus, lack of warmth in the hands and feet, white coating, no thirst, and sunken stringy and late pulse. Its adverse reactions and contraindications are not yet clear. For specific medication need to comply with the doctor’s instructions, identification of evidence, not unauthorized use of drugs, so as not to delay the condition.
