Preparation for surgery in pediatric patients with cryptorchidism

If the child has a respiratory infection, cough, or runny nose, he/she should be cured before surgery. Otherwise, laryngospasm and asphyxia may occur when basic anesthesia (e.g., ketamine) is used, or the respiratory tract may not be open during general anesthesia and oxygen deprivation may occur. Do not have vaccinations within two weeks before surgery. As the skin of children is tender, unclean skin is an important cause of postoperative incisional infection. Therefore, one day before surgery, children need to take a bath to remove skin dirt, especially the umbilicus, lower abdomen and scrotum area during laparoscopic surgery for hydronephrosis, cryptorchidism, inguinal hernia, syringomyelia, varicocele, etc. If you cannot take a bath due to illness, you should also wash the skin of the surgical area with soapy water and still pay attention to keep it clean after the surgery. Also, attention should be paid to the presence of eczema, ulcers and infections, and routine ECG and chest X-ray for heart and lung conditions. It is important to prepare for pediatric cryptorchidism surgery, and a good preparation will ensure a smooth operation. If the child has already made an appointment for surgery and respiratory infection or eczema occurs during the waiting period, it needs to be treated in time so as not to affect the normal operation. Parents can contact me through the telephone consultation service to communicate whether the child’s condition requires postponement of the operation.
